KookiKooki does not sell your data. Your recipes, meal plan and shopping list are only used to run the app and to keep them in sync across your devices.
This page explains what data Kooki uses, why, which service providers are involved, and how to exercise your rights.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Kooki is published by Louis Astrieud, France, the data controller for your data.

2. The data we use

Kooki does not access your contacts or your location. The app only accesses your photos when you pick one to import a recipe or illustrate a recipe card.
3. Ad tracking: your choice
On first launch, iOS asks whether Kooki may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, your iPhone's advertising identifier is never shared.
You can change your mind at any time: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Kooki.
4. Service providers that help us
They process your data only on Kooki's behalf, for the stated purpose.

Some of these providers are located outside the European Union, notably in the United States. These transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework).
5. How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
When you delete your account (Profile → Delete my account), your account, recipes, folders, meal plan and shopping list are erased immediately and permanently.
Statistics, subscription and ad measurement data are kept by our providers for their own retention periods. If you added your own recipe photos, or to have this other data erased, email us at kooki.support@gmail.com.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can at any time:
- access your data and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to its use or ask for it to be restricted;
- get your data in a reusable format (portability).
To exercise these rights, email kooki.support@gmail.com. We reply within one month at most. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr).
7. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and stored on Google Cloud's secure servers. Only your account gives access to your content.
8. Children
Kooki is not intended for children under 15 and does not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
This policy may change as the app evolves. We will let you know in the app about any significant change. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
